Finnish activists blockading BAE Systems in Sweden

    Four finnish peace activists are blockading the entrances of BAE Systems in Helsingborg, Sweden. The action is a part of the Dissent Disturb Disrupt day of action organised by European Peace Action as a part of the European Social Forum in Malmö, Sweden.

      NEWS: Update minute by minute!

      Friday day of action against militarism started with a bang at 11 o'clock when peace activists from around Europe gathered at the local weapons factory in Malmö, Sweden. The company, Aimpoint - or the more suitable "Shamepoint" - manifactures red dots sight used by armies around the world, notably by the american army in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

        Attention all European Peace Action participants! Unfortunately the ESF programme group has made some mistakes with our seminar:

        The Growing Influence of NATO and the Militarisation of EU

        This seminar/workshop will be in Folkets hus Nobeltorget, Sal 1. All the other EPA workshops will be at Norra Skolgatan 10, where we also have our café Fredis.

        The NATO workshop is not listed in the printed ESF programme, but will happen. So tell all your friends about it.

                Jan Tamas and Jan Bednar have not eaten for 16 days. They are protesting against plans to install a new US military base in the Czech Republic, part of the Star Wars project. Jan Bednar's liver failure, is worsening and he is now under constant medical care.
